Benefits and spending access travel together

Share Walmart+ only after checking the shared payment card

Walmart+ household sharing offers more than a second set of delivery benefits: it also requires access to a shared payment card. Decide whether that arrangement fits your household before sending the invitation.

THE USEFUL PART FIRST

An eligible paid Walmart+ member can invite one adult, age 18 or older, who lives full-time at the same address. Trial memberships do not qualify. The invitation must be accepted within 14 days, and the primary member must authorize use of the designated shared payment card.

Agree on payment before sharing benefits

Walmart's help says the invited person can use the shared card on Walmart.com or in the app. They can also add and use their own payment method. Seeing only the last four digits does not mean they lack permission to make purchases with the shared card.

Have a practical conversation first: which purchases should use the common card, who checks statements and how household expenses are reconciled. If you only intend to help someone collect a single order, an alternate pickup person may be the relevant setting instead of membership sharing.

Invite the account the person actually uses

Start from the primary member's Walmart+ settings and enter the adult's correct account email. The recipient opens the invitation, signs into their own account or creates one, and completes the acceptance steps. Confirm the result before relying on shared benefits at checkout.

The accounts remain separate. Walmart says members cannot see each other's orders, purchase history, saved addresses or settings. That separation means a shared member's purchase is not necessarily visible in your own order history, even when a shared card paid for it.

Check the specific perk and the exit conditions

Most benefits can be shared, but the help page names exceptions, including video streaming and Burger King savings. Do not buy a service or cancel another subscription until the intended person has confirmed the particular benefit is available.

Removing a member immediately ends their shared benefits and shared-card access. Walmart also describes a 180-day wait before either person shares with someone new, with an exception for sharing again with the same person. Read those conditions before using removal as a troubleshooting step.

If an invitation went to the wrong email and has not been accepted, cancel that invitation in the membership settings. Keep account passwords and verification codes private throughout the process.

Questions that come up

Can I share without authorizing the shared card?

Walmart's current help says a shared payment card is required for benefits sharing.

Does the invited adult need my login?

No. The published process uses an invitation and the recipient's own Walmart account.
