THE USEFUL PART FIRST
Walmart lists its standard Walmart+ price at $98 per year or $12.95 per month, plus applicable tax. The better choice depends on eligible benefits you will actually use. Confirm service availability at your address before including delivery savings in the calculation.
Would Walmart+ add up for you?
Count the benefits you would actually use, then compare them with your membership cost.
An estimate based on your inputs. Eligibility, minimum orders, taxes, tips and unavailable services may change the value you receive.
Build the case from your last few orders
Look at recent receipts and list the charges membership would genuinely avoid. If you normally collect groceries yourself, a waived delivery fee is not a saving on your existing routine. It may still buy valuable convenience, but put that in a separate column so that the financial comparison stays honest.
Walmart+ includes several shopping and service benefits, each with conditions. Standard store delivery and parcel shipping are different benefits; expedited delivery, optional upgrades and other charges should not be treated as automatically covered. Review the offer shown for your account and your address rather than assuming every advertised benefit is available to you.
| Benefit you are considering | Use this value in your estimate |
|---|---|
| Delivery | Fees you would otherwise pay for eligible orders |
| Shipping | Charges on purchases you already intended to make |
| Streaming | A subscription cost you can actually stop paying |
| Fuel or other offers | Savings at participating locations you already use |
| Convenience | Keep separate from guaranteed cash savings |
Use a break-even calculation, then challenge it
Divide the membership's total annual cost by the average fee you realistically avoid per order. As an illustration, a $98 cost divided by a hypothetical $7 saving is 14 orders. The $7 is an example you should replace with your own eligible charge; it is not a claim about Walmart's current delivery fee.
Then reduce your estimate for the months when you travel, order less or use another store. Include membership tax and any upgrades you plan to keep. Do not count the same waived charge twice under delivery and shipping, and do not value a streaming benefit at full retail price if you would never have bought it.
Choose the commitment you can use
Twelve standard monthly payments total $155.40 before tax. The annual plan is cheaper over a full year at the listed prices, but that does not make it the best purchase for someone who needs the service briefly. Compare the number of months you expect to use with the annual commitment.
Promotions and eligibility-based plans can change the calculation. Use the actual price and renewal terms displayed when you enroll, and save that confirmation. A first-term offer is not the same as the recurring price.
Do these checks before subscribing
Enter your delivery address, inspect the benefits you care about, and make a sample cart large enough for the service you intend to use. Confirm the billing interval and renewal date. Set your own reminder to review value before renewal. Our calculator organizes the numbers you enter; it does not guarantee availability, savings or an individual offer.
Questions that come up
Does Walmart+ make every delivery free?
No. Benefits have eligibility conditions, and express services or optional upgrades can have additional charges. Check the checkout total.
Should I count every advertised perk as savings?
Only count spending it replaces or value you would consciously pay for. Keep speculative use out of the cash calculation.
