Make sure the offer fits the item you want
Open the offer details before adding extra items to a basket. Check the qualifying size, quantity and conditions against the product you would normally buy. A larger reward does not automatically create a better purchase if you are paying more for something you will not use.
An expected reward is not an available balance
For online manufacturer offers, Walmart says the reward is credited after pickup or delivery. A product sitting in a cart is therefore not an earned balance. If the item is replaced or canceled, revisit your expectation rather than assuming the original offer survived the change.
When deciding how to pay, use the available balance shown in the account. Do not spend money based on a pending reward arriving before another bill or purchase. Walmart Cash is a retail reward program, not a substitute for checking the funds available in your payment account.
Trace a missing reward from offer to receipt
Start with the account: was the offer claimed on the same one used to buy? Then compare the exact receipt item with the qualifying offer. Finally, check whether the order is complete. Those three checks establish whether you are looking at the right transaction before you contact support.
Watch for a substitution that changed the size or brand. A product can be a reasonable replacement for your shopping needs without being eligible for the original reward. Keep the receipt and offer details together so the support question names the specific difference.

Choose between spending and cashing out
Walmart's FAQ says there is no minimum balance for redemption against eligible purchases. In-store cash-out requires at least $25 and is subject to limits and verification. Follow the current account instructions and official terms for the route you choose.
Forgot the checkout QR code? Keep the receipt
Walmart’s FAQ gives a recovery route for an in-store purchase when you claimed the offer before buying but forgot to connect the transaction at checkout. Scan the store receipt barcode in the app within seven days. The system checks whether the offer was claimed in time and whether the transaction has already received the reward.
The FAQ limits receipt submissions to five in 24 hours. That recovery route does not let you choose an expired offer after making a purchase and treat it as previously claimed. Start with the saved offer record, then the exact receipt item, so you know which part of the earning process failed.
A reward and a coupon can produce different checkout results
For a hypothetical product priced at $6 with a $2 Walmart Cash offer, you still need enough accepted payment for today’s purchase. The $2 reward, if earned, becomes value for a later transaction. Its effective cost is different from an immediate $2 price reduction because the timing and future use are different.
Walmart says a paper coupon and a manufacturer Walmart Cash offer do not both apply to the same item in the same transaction: when the paper coupon is used, the manufacturer reward is not earned for that item. Compare the immediate coupon with the future reward before checkout instead of assuming both savings will stack.
A returned qualifying item can reverse the reward. If that makes the balance negative, the FAQ says future earnings must bring it back above zero before redemption is available. Look at the return and rewards histories together when the balance changes unexpectedly.
Cash out only when the visit and barcode are ready
Generate the in-store cash-out barcode close enough to the visit to use it: Walmart says it expires after three hours. Take valid government-issued photo ID with a name matching the account. Use the MoneyCenter or customer-service desk rather than handing the code to another shopper.
The published cash-out ceilings are $500 per day, $1,000 per week and $2,000 per month. These are program limits, not a reason to split a transaction around verification. For ordinary shopping, confirm the eligible balance applied in checkout and remember that gift cards, membership fees and several restricted categories cannot be bought with Walmart Cash.
