Membership and delivery selection are separate

You have Walmart InHome. Make sure the order uses it.

Adding InHome to Walmart+ does not turn every item and every checkout into an InHome order. The cart still needs the right fulfillment option and a specifically labeled InHome time slot. That distinction explains many surprises about drivers, delivery windows and tips.

THE USEFUL PART FIRST

InHome is a paid add-on to Walmart+ for eligible addresses. Select Delivery from store and an InHome time slot at checkout. That service uses Walmart associates and is tip-free, with options for the doorstep, garage or home; the access arrangement must match what you selected.

Do not confuseOrdinary delivery with an InHome booking

Check three labels before you submit

First confirm the delivery address is eligible. Then check that the items are offered for local delivery. Finally choose an InHome slot rather than assuming any available delivery time uses the service. The checkout's actual selection matters more than the membership badge on your account.

If you see a tipping prompt when you expected InHome, stop and review the selected service. That prompt is a reason to investigate the order configuration, not proof that Walmart has charged for a tip-free service. Mixed fulfillment arrangements deserve particular attention.

Choose the amount of access you actually want

InHome can deliver to the door; you do not have to choose an inside-home arrangement merely because of the service name. If you do choose garage or indoor delivery, complete Walmart's supported access setup and review the location and instructions.

Keep the instructions useful and private: the correct entrance, property type and relevant access information in the official order settings. Do not publish gate or door codes in a community discussion. Make sure everyone in the household knows what delivery arrangement to expect.

Compare the service with your routine

Start with the windows actually available at your address. A service is useful only if you can receive the orders you regularly need through it. Separate the InHome add-on price from the base Walmart+ membership when deciding whether it fits your budget.

After checkout, save the service label and selected destination with the confirmation. If the expected InHome option is missing, check membership status, address and cart eligibility before paying for a different arrangement. If an existing order is delayed, use the options Walmart sends for that order rather than assuming it can be converted in every circumstance.

Questions that come up

Must an InHome associate enter my house?

No. Walmart lists doorstep delivery as an option alongside garage and in-home arrangements.

Does every delivery become tip-free when I buy InHome?

Check the booking. Walmart ties the InHome delivery benefit to selecting an InHome slot; ordinary deliveries are a separate service.
