Choose the amount of access you actually want

InHome can deliver to the door; you do not have to choose an inside-home arrangement merely because of the service name. If you do choose garage or indoor delivery, complete Walmart's supported access setup and review the location and instructions.

Keep the instructions useful and private: the correct entrance, property type and relevant access information in the official order settings. Do not publish gate or door codes in a community discussion. Make sure everyone in the household knows what delivery arrangement to expect.

Compare the add-on against your delivery pattern

If you already pay for Walmart+, the annual InHome decision is an additional $40 before tax. Spread over 20 eligible InHome deliveries, that is $2 per delivery in membership cost; over four deliveries, it is $10. These calculations do not forecast your savings. They make the fixed add-on cost easier to compare with how often you would use it.

If you are joining from scratch, compare the combined membership price rather than only the $40 upgrade. Check address eligibility before committing, and look at the actual available slots. A service that fits a weekly grocery routine may be less useful when you mostly need an urgent evening order.

Owning InHome does not turn every order into an InHome order

Choose items available for Delivery from store, then choose a time slot specifically labeled InHome. A regular delivery or Express slot remains a different service even if the account has the InHome add-on. This is why checking the slot label can resolve a tip-screen surprise more directly than checking whether membership is active.

On the review screen, confirm the delivery location, property type and access instructions. If you intended doorstep delivery, keep that selection explicit. If you want garage or indoor placement, complete the supported access setup and check the instructions associated with it. Do not assume a saved address automatically authorizes a particular entrance.

An unavailable InHome slot can mean the address or schedule does not support the service you are trying to select. It is not a reason to order through an ordinary slot while expecting the associate-only, tip-free InHome process to be applied later.

Prepare the selected delivery area

Make the route to the chosen drop-off area clear, identify the correct entrance and decide how pets will be kept away from the delivery path. Give concise instructions about the placement you selected rather than a long note containing unrelated personal information. Use the service’s access settings for codes and entry details.

If circumstances change before arrival, inspect the order and InHome settings and contact the official support route about the available action. A note written after a driver has already left may not change the operational plan. Check the order’s confirmation and tracking for the next step.

For household planning, decide who will receive notifications and check the grocery delivery afterward. Even when an associate places items in the requested area, compare the final receipt and substitutions with the purchase. Keep any return-pickup request separate so it is actually scheduled through the supported flow.

Cancel the add-on without canceling the base membership

Walmart’s InHome management guidance provides a separate Cancel InHome control under Your Plus Ups. Canceling that add-on leaves the base Walmart+ membership active; InHome benefits continue until the end of the applicable billing cycle. If the goal is to stop the entire paid membership, manage the base plan as well rather than treating the add-on confirmation as a complete cancellation.

At the standard $7 monthly add-on price, six monthly payments total $42 before tax, compared with $40 for the annual add-on. That comparison only helps after you establish that the service fits your address and routine. Read the dates and charges shown when upgrading, since Walmart says adding InHome partway through a membership can produce a prorated charge. Save the resulting plan record separately from any individual grocery order.
