Choose edit, extra tip or first tip
Open the delivered order rather than starting from a new cart or general wallet setting. Review whether a tip was already included and when the delivery finished. The controls available depend on what you are trying to do and how much time has passed.
Adding another tip is different from replacing an existing amount. Read the label on the action and the total before confirming. If the interface offers Add extra tip, do not assume entering your preferred overall amount subtracts what you already gave.

A missing button does not identify the cause by itself
Walmart says an order without an Add tip option is not eligible for that action. Check the fulfillment type and timing before assuming the app is broken. InHome bookings are specifically tip-free, and a parcel shipment is not automatically the same service as groceries delivered from a store.
Keep feedback and payment changes clear
Describe a service problem through the appropriate feedback or order-help option. A missing bag, a wrong item and an unsafe handoff are different issues, and changing the tip alone does not submit a missing-item request.
An afternoon delivery shows the three different windows
Suppose an eligible order is delivered at 2 p.m. Under the published rules, the existing tip can be edited for up to three hours, through about 5 p.m. After that, an additional tip can be added within the 24-hour window. If no tip was included at all, the first-tip option has a different deadline of up to 14 days.
The example illustrates the difference between editing a prior amount and adding a new one. Use the delivery time in the order record and the controls actually available. Do not assume the 14-day first-tip period means you can reduce an existing tip for two weeks.
If you intended to change the existing amount but only an extra-tip option remains, inspect what the screen will add before submitting. A new $5 extra tip may be added to the original amount, rather than replacing it. Keep the resulting order record if the final total is not what you expected.
Delivery fees, membership and tips are separate lines
A standard delivery fee pays for the service component listed by Walmart; a tip is an optional payment to the driver. Walmart states that the full tip goes to the driver. A Walmart+ benefit that waives an eligible delivery fee does not automatically mean the driver has received a gratuity.
InHome is the specific tip-free service in this comparison. It requires the add-on and an InHome time slot. If you chose a regular delivery slot, its tipping flow may still apply even though your account also has InHome. Check the order’s service label before treating a tip control as a membership billing error.
Parcel shipping and store delivery can also appear in the same cart. When looking for a tip control, open the store-delivery order you mean to reward rather than a separate shipped item. Walmart says an order without the available add-tip option is not eligible through that flow.
Choose the amount consciously and inspect the total
Walmart does not require a universal percentage in the cited help. Decide what you want to leave and review the displayed dollar amount before confirming. If the screen offers a percentage, a changed merchandise total can make the number different from the amount you first had in mind.
For a hypothetical $80 grocery subtotal, five percent is $4 and ten percent is $8. These are calculation examples, not recommended or mandatory rates. If you choose a fixed amount, verify that fixed dollar amount rather than relying on a percentage label.
Keep a tip attached to the delivery you mean to recognize
When two household members place grocery orders on the same day, match the delivery time and order reference before opening the tip control. A positive experience on one delivery should not lead you to change an unrelated order with a similar total. If the purchase was on another person’s account, have that account holder use its order controls rather than sharing their password.
