Walmart sells physical gift cards and email-delivered eGift cards. Choose a Walmart-branded card for eligible Walmart purchases, check the recipient and delivery format, and retain the purchase confirmation. Walmart gift cards do not expire, but its current terms say they are not returnable or refundable.
Match the delivery method to the occasion
A physical card works well when you want to hand over a gift. An eGift card avoids mailing, but the recipient address becomes part of the purchase. Read the delivery details on the exact listing rather than treating every digital product as an instant arrival.
If you are buying several cards, make a private note of the intended recipient for each one. Keep purchase receipts separate from the gifts until everything has arrived. Give the recipient the usable card or redemption message, not just your order-confirmation number.

Read the restrictions before loading value
Walmart's gift-card terms exclude certain purchases, including other gift cards, financial products or services, and precious metals. A restricted or charitable card may have further limits. Buying a gift card is therefore a poor substitute for checking whether the recipient can use it for the intended purchase.
Do not assume that a branded card works at every business inside a Walmart building. If the planned use is unusual, ask about that specific service before paying. Keep the original card after a purchase until any return or refund is resolved.
If the gift does not arrive
Check the order status and the recipient address on the original order. Ask the recipient to check junk mail without forwarding the redemption information to anyone else. Use Walmart's order help if the address is wrong or the delivery remains unresolved.
Never post a card photograph or redemption code in a public question. Anyone who can read the usable details may be able to spend the balance. A legitimate gift should go to the person you intended, through a channel you have checked.
