Decide what counts as a good purchase
Write down the full model number, essential features, acceptable alternatives, and maximum total for each planned purchase. For a TV, include the room measurements and required connections. For an appliance or large item, include delivery and installation needs.
Record a comparison price when researching rather than relying only on a crossed-out number during the sale. You do not need to buy the least expensive item if it lacks something essential.
Separate online and in-store timing

Keep the final decision at checkout
Walmart's event guidance warns that popular items can sell out before checkout is complete. An item in a cart is not the same as a confirmed order. Review the total, seller, and expected arrival before submitting.
Check the relevant return terms before buying a gift early. Avoid assuming that every product shares one extended holiday return window. After ordering, save the confirmation and track the actual shipment rather than continuing to rely on the event advertisement.
