Build a Walmart baby registry people can actually shop

Start with quantities, space and timing

Write down what you already own, what someone has promised to give you and what you still need. Then add the exact product variants to the registry. Choosing a model name without the right size or quantity leaves room for an expensive misunderstanding.

Offer several price points so guests can choose comfortably. For bulky items, measure the available space and review delivery arrangements first. Avoid adding multiple alternatives when you want only one: decide which option belongs on the shared list and keep research candidates in a private note.

Help a guest reach the right person

Walmart's registry finder uses the registrant's details, including last name and state. A direct link from the parent-to-be is simpler when several people have the same name. Before buying, check that the list belongs to the intended recipient and review the selected product and shipping details.

After gifts arrive, reconcile the registry with what you actually received. A gift bought elsewhere or marked purchased may affect your planning without counting toward an offer. Keep the gift receipt and order details available; do not assume that every baby product follows identical return terms.

Check the box requirements without buying unnecessary things

Walmart's current help page requires a baby registry created on or after February 1, 2025, open for at least seven days, with at least 20 unique items and more than $25 purchased through the unique registry link. Simply marking an item purchased does not count toward that spending requirement.

Use the progress information in My Registry and follow the claim instructions when eligible. Save the confirmation after claiming. The box is a sample offer, not a reason to buy items you did not need or to count on particular products arriving for an event.
